New Canadian Records is a Northern Ontario based record label that features the work of mainly Northern Ontario and Franco-Ontario musicians. Formed initially as an alternative to larger record companies who failed to recognize the significance of Ontario traditional fiddle music, New Canadian's mandate is to produce high quality recordings and to market them internationally with cultural integrity.

Formed in 1996 by Pierre Schryer, New Canadian Records was first set up to distribute, market and represent Pierre's first solo album, "The New Canadian Waltz." In 1999, New Canadian Records released a 2-year international project called "2 Worlds United" with Pierre Schryer and Dermot Byrne (from Ireland's Altan). That year marked the beginning of New Canadian Records' nationwide distribution deal with Festival Distribution Inc.

The New Millenium began with a formal worldwide distribution deal with Irish record label, Claddagh Records for the album "2 Worlds United" and New Canadian Records launched two new recordings: a legendary album called "Throughout Time," with Canadian fiddle greats Graham and Eleanor Townsend, co-produced by their son Gray Townsend, and the album "Acoustique !" by The Pierre Schryer Band.

In 2002, New Canadian Records continued releasing high quality recordings by launching the exciting 'live' album by Pierre Schryer and guitarist Ian Clark, entitled "Heat of the Moment."

New Canadian Records reached a milestone success with the 2004 JUNO Nomination of  Pierre Schryer's 5th album, "Blue Drag."
